Spring Cleaning & Maintenance
Spring nesting is here! Beware, birds love to build nests behind the grille on Refrigerated “Reefer” Machines. Shipping containers are pretty self-sufficient, however here are a few Spring Cleaning & Maintenance ideas to help prolong the life of your container.
Coil Maintenance – On Refrigerated Containers, we recommend that you remove the grille and clean out the condenser coil on a quarterly basis. We have a blog post that goes into detail here.
Door Upkeep – Are your container doors a little stiff after Winter? You can lubricate and grease them, read more here.
Roof Maintenance – If you have any debris collecting on top of your container, we suggest you clear this off. As debris and water collect this can create rust and eventually cause leaks.
Monitor Schedule – If you don’t have a schedule in place, it is recommended you regularly monitor your refrigerated container. Monitor the temps and the area outside the container.
