Delivery & Site Preparation
We put together this list of delivery & site preparation information to help delivery go as smooth as possible!
1. Space Required
We will need a minimum of 70ft for a Dry Shipping Container and 105ft for a Refrigerated Shipping Container, of straight clearance to unload the container. The truck must stay in a straight line when unloading and picking up a container. Any turns or curves need to be addressed prior to delivery.
2. Site Preparation
The ground needs to be level, smooth, and firm. Importance of Leveling Your Container. This assures the container doors will be level. Shipping container doors will not work properly if the container is not level. Read more.
We can deliver on dirt, grass, concrete, and asphalt. However, do keep in mind that your container may sink or settle in soft surfaces and the truck tires may leave tire marks. If weather and or ground conditions are unfavorable we will reschedule.
Side note, gravel prevents unwanted critters from establishing a home underneath your container and proper drainage.
3. Blocking
Since we have covered site preparation, next we can discuss blocking. We have customers that like to block underneath their container. Please have the blocking materials on hand prior to delivery. Blocking materials can include landscape timbers, railroad ties, and solid concrete pavers. However, our drivers are unable to assist in placement of the railroad ties. Please have these ready and in place prior to delivery. We recommend that you lay them long ways or the length of the container.
4. Overhead Clearance
Make sure there are no power lines, tree limbs or roof overhangs that can interfere with delivery of your container. The tilt bed trailer and container need a minimum of 16′ clearance overhead.
5. Inside Delivery
Our drivers are skilled and fully capable of delivering containers indoors. We ask that you send us measurements and pictures of the area outside leading up to the building, the entrance door, and images of where the container will go. The more details we have the better we can plan for smooth delivery.
