Inspiration Comes from an Interesting Phone Call
We got an interesting call this morning from a gentleman named Brandon. We love to field phone calls from young, enthusiastic entrepreneurial people. The ideas they share help to inspire us here at USA-Containers. We often push ourselves to think outside the box as we discussed in the last blog. Brandon gave us a good shove when he called.
Thinking Outside the Box
Although Brandon’s idea is not new to the used shipping containers business it is a new one for the Peoria, Illinois area. What’s his idea? Well, Brandon is going to hopefully build a residential community of homes built from used shipping containers. By the sound of it he will be a success. He is doing it right. He is doing his research and getting his facts before just jumping in. Brandon asked a lot of questions about containers and issue he might face when construction started. Since we have been in the container business over 30 years and built a very wide variety of container build-outs, we were more than willing to share our experience.
Wheels Are Turning
We invited Brandon out to take a look of the shop and office we built out of used shipping containers. It will give him great ideas and in turn we will gain some inspiration from him. Knowing Mike Alecock, our President of the company, he will be busy planning new ideas during the afternoon brainstorming session. We think his wheels are already starting to turn. He was mumbling something about using an insulated container for portable grow rooms for herbs as he left for lunch.
