Tiny Butcher Shop
Custom Container: Tiny Butcher Shop
Tiny Homes have really become popular over the last few years. We recently had a customer contact us to build a butcher shop in a 40’ refrigerated container, and the tiny butcher shop was born!
This customer is a Charcutier (pronounced “shahr-ku-tuh-ree”). If you’re like me and have no clue what that is, a Charcutier practices the art of Charcuterie. This is the art of preparing and assembling cured meats and other meat products.
This container provided a place for our customer to practice his trade. He needed a space that was climate-controlled, sanitary, and easy to clean. Also, it needed to be versatile in order to prepare a wide variety of meats for processing. This customer is also an avid hunter and needs a place to process wild game.
Initially, we started with a new refrigerated container. We added an interior divider wall to make one room an aging room for meats and the other room a work area to process and package the final products.
This container is modified to include interior lights, receptacles, a meat grinder and saws, stainless steel tables, and a sink. In order to process meat, this container has a hanging meat rail system capable of handling up to half of a beef! The unit has (2) 24000 BTU air conditioners. They are fitted with Coolbot controllers that have WiFi connectivity and a mobile app. The container could easily maintain 35’F interior temperatures when needed.
